Kevin Lamont Marvin

Kevin Lamont Marvin, born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 37. Visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory (8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale) on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Celebration Of Life will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League or Kingdom Living.

Kevin was known for his generous spirit — always giving and looking for a way to make the people around him happy. He was the very definition of selflessness. He was fiercely loyal and loved his family deeply. No matter what he was doing, if someone called and needed help, Kevin dropped everything to be there.

As a kid, Kevin was an Eagle Scout and served in ROTC. He loved animals, especially dogs, and held onto fond memories of his childhood dogs, Skipper and Honey. He never turned down a game night, whether it was board games like Cover Your Assets or card games like poker and sheepshead — and he never turned down ice cream, either.

Kevin was also a man of many skills, and brought his talents to many different jobs over the years. Whatever task he set his mind to — pest control, quality review, landscaping, and more — he approached it seriously and did it well.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Craig and Donna Marvin; and brothers, Taylor (Shelby) and their children, Adrian and Colette; Logan (Ally) and their children, Maren and Maeve.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his family and by everyone who had the gift of knowing him.
