Kenneth Horn

Kenneth Horn, 90, of Winterset, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Azria Care Winterset.

Kenneth Richard Horn was born on January 29, 1935, in Stuart, Iowa, the son of Ludwig “Ludie” and Della Mae (Baker) Horn. He began his education in Stuart before his family moved to Madison County, Iowa. There, he attended country school and later Winterset High School, graduating with the Class of 1953. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years.

After completing his military service, he returned to Madison County, where he met and married Konnie Pritchard on May 6, 1961. Together they welcomed one son, Rodney Dean, born in 1965. Kenny and Konnie spent their married life in Madison County.

Kenny worked in construction for many years and later worked for Madison County Secondary Roads for 10 years before retiring. He took great joy in his family, especially his granddaughters and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness.

He is survived by his son, Rodney Horn and his wife, Melinda; granddaughters, Heylee (Drew) Eighmy and Nichelle (Todd) Graham; great-grandchildren, Kenlee Eighmy, Melissa Eighmy, Hunter Eighmy, Elsie Graham and Jettson Graham. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Konnie; his brother, LeRoy Horn and his wife; his sister, Mildred Horn Herman and her husband; and four nephews and one great-nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home. Family will be present to greet friends prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
