Kenneth Charles Denger

Kenneth Charles Denger, age 88, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, formerly of Perry, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Urbandale, Iowa.

Kenneth was born on July 5, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa, to Henry and Harriet (Whitney) Denger. He was raised in Davenport alongside his brother, Charles, and sister, Carole, where he attended school and graduated from high school.

Following graduation, Kenneth attended the University of Iowa from 1956 to 1957 before transferring to Iowa Wesleyan College, where he continued his education from 1957 to 1960. Upon earning his degree, he began a career in education that spanned more than three decades. He taught at Walker Schools, East Greene Community Schools, and Woodward-Granger Community Schools, retiring in May 1998 after many years of dedicated service to his students and fellow educators.

On June 4, 1960, Kenneth was united in marriage to the love of his life, Anne Etta Denger, in Martelle, Iowa. Together they built a wonderful life and were blessed with two daughters, Sandra and Jacquiline.

Kenneth found joy in golfing, reading, exercising, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family. Whether playing with his grandchildren or simply enjoying time together, his family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in watching them grow.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sandra Denger and Jacquiline (Dutch) Tryon; his grandchildren, Kolin and Katelyn Schroeder; his brother, Charles Denger; along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Etta Denger; his parents, Henry and Harriet Denger; and his sister, Carole Denger.

Kenneth will be remembered for his dedication as an educator, his unwavering love for his family, and the kindness, humility, and warmth he shared with everyone he met. His legacy lives on through the many students he taught, the family he loved, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
