Karen Ruth Troester, 87, of Des Moines, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Norwalk Nursing and Rehab in Norwalk, Iowa.
Karen was born on February 21, 1939, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Irvin and Ethel (Henderson) Troester.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Karen will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Animal Lifeline in Karen’s name, 4521 SE 14th Street, Des Moines, IA 50320. Memorials may also be made online at www.animallifeline.com. Online condolences may be shared at www.caldwellparrish.com.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Ethel Troester, and her brother, Duane Troester.
