Justin Wayne Skaggs

Justin Wayne Skaggs, age 24, of Perry, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 with visitation one hour prior beginning at 11:00 a.m. all at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel at 1721 Park Street, Perry, Iowa 50220. Interment will follow in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.

Born on March 24, 2000, in Des Moines, he was the beloved son of Karla Laws Schuiteman and Terry Skaggs.

Justin's name was well-known throughout Perry, and his presence touched many lives. Known for his ability to bring people together and forge lasting friendships, Justin had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. His love for his two sons, Saige and Matao, was evident in every moment he spent with them, and his joy in being a father was a central part of his life. His spirit was characterized by his warmth, his infectious smile, and his carefree attitude. To all who knew him, he was truly "The Goat."

He is survived by his two sons, Saige and Matao Skaggs; his mother, Karla Laws Schuiteman; his father, Terry Skaggs; his brother, Austin Skaggs; his sister, Krystal Schuiteman; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Justin’s legacy of friendship, kindness, and joy will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
