Judith “Judy” Ann (Behlmer) Tieskoetter of Des Moines, IA, passed away on May 7, 2025, at home. A visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Urbandale, IA, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., with a Rosary at 6:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Basilica of Saint John in Des Moines, IA, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Noon. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery in Conception Junction, MO on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.
Judy was born in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Wilbur D. and Patricia R. (Oberman) Behlmer. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and continued her education at Clarke College where she earned her degree in Microbiology. She became a Medical Technologist, certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Judy worked in multiple hospitals as a medical technologist and retired from Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Judy and Luke Tieskoetter were married in 1994 and shared 30 wonderful years of marriage. They spent their years together loving each other, gardening, traveling, and devoting their lives to Christ, serving his community within the Catholic Church. Judy also enjoyed family gatherings, playing the piano, and even more, she loved a good laugh.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur D. and Patricia R. Behlmer; sister, Sharon “Sherry” Behlmer; and brother-in-law, Dr. Robert “Rob” Ryan. She is survived by her husband, Deacon Luke; and son, John and his family. She is also survived by her siblings; Dr. Stephen Behlmer (Lora), Dr. Patricia M. Behlmer, Susan Gartner (Stephen), Lori Buxbaum (Keith), and Nancy McGuire (Randy), as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s honor to a charity of your choice.
