Judith Louise Hunsicker

Judith Louise Hunsicker, 87, of Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully Friday, July 19, 2024 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday July 27, 2024 at Urbandale Baptist Church in Urbandale, IA. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Urbandale Baptist Church.

Judith was born on February 3, 1937 to Howard and Edith (Ammer) North in Monroe, IA. She attended Newton High School and played trombone in the marching band. She graduated in 1955. Judith married Charles Donald “Don” Hunsicker on July 27, 1957. To this marriage they had 3 children. She worked for Meredith Corporation for 22 years as a secretary, working her way up to become a member of the editorial staff for special interest publications. Judith worked for Trains&More for several years before taking a job at DeChant Middendorf  Insurance Company. Judith was an avid reader, kept her house as clean as she could with three kids and attended church faithfully. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

Judith is survived by her three children; Eldon Hunsicker of Des Moines, Tracey (Loren) Wobig of Springfield, IL, Kirk Hunsicker of Des Moines, three grandchildren; Jamie (Christian) Plum of Atlantic, IA, Kendall Wobig of Ankeny, IA, Kaylee Wobig of Springfield, two great-grandchildren; Madison Gardner, Tara Plum, one brother, Leland North and one sister, Janet Waggoner. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Dean North.
