Joshua Linn

Joshua (Josh) Michael Linn was born September 13, 1984, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Michael A. and Doris A. (Harkin) Linn. He passed away suddenly from natural causes on July 25, 2026, in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Josh grew up in West Des Moines, where he attended Fairmeadows Elementary School, Valley High School, and DMACC.

Josh worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years and also worked for Domino’s Pizza.

Josh loved sports, especially baseball. He grew up playing Little League in West Des Moines and later played tournament travel ball, loving every moment of it. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed the friendly family rivalries that came with cheering for opposing teams.

Josh loved playing cards with family and friends, especially poker and cribbage. These were favorite pastimes he learned from his Grandpa Harkin and Grandpa Linn.

Nothing was more important to Josh than his children. He loved spending time with them at the park, going fishing, or simply enjoying time together.

Josh is survived by his wife, Genny; his four children, Victoria Merical (Alex), Dominick Merical (Marissa), Georgie Linn, and Everett Linn; his mother, Doris; his father, Michael; his brother, Jeremy Linn (Lindsay); his sister, Megan Linn; his in-laws, Johnny and Carolyn Merical; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation and memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa.
