Josephine Frances Douglas

Josephine Douglas passed away October 21, 2024. A public visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church (1230 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines, IA 50311). A mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. with interment at Glendale Cemetery (4909 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311)

Josephine was born to Emma & Joseph Barberio on June 2, 1933. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy class of 1951, and then attended Los Angeles Community College. She retired from US West Communication in 1997.

The happiness of her life was being blessed with her two children, John & Judy, whom she was devoted to, along with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Left to treasure her memory are her son, John of Lakewood, Colorado; daughter, Judy Howard of Windsor Heights; grandchildren; Jayme (Rachel) Howard and Anne Howard (Dan Allerman) of Urbandale, John Michael Douglas of Westminster, Colorado; great grandson, Isaac Flathers, many nieces & nephews, and friends she loved dearly.

The family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to Dr. Arshin Sheybani and staff at John Stoddard Cancer Center, as well as a special Thanks to Dr. Tom Mouser and the staff and volunteers at EveryStep Kavanagh House.
