Joseph Ralph Mitchell, a WWII veteran, died Friday October18, 2013 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. He was 94. He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite A. Mitchell; parents Robert and Mary Mitchell; brother David Mitchell; sister Mildred White; son Joseph R. Mitchell, Jr.; daughter Marianna Beikler; and grandson William S. Siedschlag, III. Joseph is survived by brother Marvin Mitchell; sisters Ruth Laughlin and Mary Horan; daughters Suzette (William Jr.) Siedschlag and Linda (Nick) Crauwels; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A private family celebration of life will be held at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Memorial Contributions can be directed to Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines. Online condolences can be left at this site.
