Jodi Griffith

Joan “Jodi” Griffith was born on October 24, 1931, in Winterset, Iowa to Judson and Agnes (Clark) Brooker. She grew up in Winterset, graduated from Winterset High School in 1949, and carried her love for her hometown throughout her life.

On July 30, 1950, Jodi was united in marriage to Wayne “Doc” Griffith. The two shared both life and work, running Doc’s Soft Water together from 1962 until their retirement in 1985. They also enjoyed 21 winters as snowbirds in Queen Creek, Arizona, a time they cherished.

Jodi’s greatest joy was time spent with the people she loved. She valued her family deeply, treasured her friendships, and looked forward to gathering with her Wednesday Night Dinner group. Jodi found happiness in simple moments and good company.

Jodi passed away on February 8, 2026, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset while receiving Hospice care. She was 94 years old.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandi (Mark) Cook of West Des Moines, and Terri (Terry) Kuhns of Winterset; her grandchildren Kelsey (Josh) Hall of Grimes and Jordan (Alex O’Brien) of Bloomington, Illinois; and her great-granddaughters, Avary and Lydia of Grimes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Judson and Agnes Brooker, her husband, Doc Griffith; her sister, Evelyn “Ev” Cline; and her brothers, Bob and Carroll Brooker.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date in the Winterset Cemetery.
