Jeff P. Sanders

Jeffrey Paul Sanders, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 18 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday August 19 at the church with burial following at the Altoona Cemetery. Jeff worked for MidAmerican Energy as a lineman for over 40 years. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring his own cars. Jeff loved NASCAR and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jeff is survived by his wife, Julie; sons, Eric (Nikki) Sanders and Adam (Ann) Sanders; daughter, Kelly (Matt) Trissler; brothers, Roger (Jan) Sanders and Brian (Pat) Sanders; sisters, Sarah (Ron) Unser, Barb (Tom) Harvey and Cathy (Bill) Newton; grandchildren, Rylan, Maddox, Brynn, Mya, Elin and a grandson on the way; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia Sanders and sister, Becky Sanders. Memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or the Animal Life Line of Des Moines.
