Janet (Jan) Cornelius passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2025, at the age of 80. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at First Christian Church in Perry. Interment will take place at Dodge Center Cemetery in Bagley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Jan was born on April 16, 1944, in Pierceton, IN, to John Sr. and Mary Anne (Shenefield) Noble. She graduated from Pierceton High School in 1962. On December 6, 1963, she married William Clay, and together they welcomed their daughter, Cathy. Following their divorce, Jan married Stephen Cornelius of Perry, Iowa, on June 11, 1977, and they had a son, Curt. One of Jan’s most cherished roles was serving as a Paraeducator for Perry Schools for 11 years.

Jan is survived by her husband, Steve; her daughter, Cathy (Brett) Groth and their children, Lindsey (Devin) French; and great-grandchildren, Daxton and Lily French, and Seth (Brylie) Groth; her son, Curt (Abigail) Cornelius and their daughters, Hazel and Brinley. She is also survived by her brother, John, Jr (Linda) Noble; niece, Jennifer (Matt) Spencer; and nephew, John III (Brian) Noble. She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Lisa.
