James Tully

James "Jay" John Tully was was born January 21, 1979 in Des Moines, IA to John and Connie Tully. He passed away September 13, 2025 at the age of 46. He lived his entire life in the Johnston and Des Moines area.

Family was his most cherished treasure; he loved family time. His dogs were also a part of his family, a constant source of happiness and companionship throughout his life.

He inherited his love for riding motorcycles from his dad, calling it his wind therapy.

Although Jay preferred to appear as a tough, "macho" kind of guy, he really had a heart as big as the world. He never met a stranger and formed countless lifelong friendships. He was always there to help anyone.

Jay was kind of a self-taught jack-of-all-trades handyman. He loved working with his hands whether doing home projects, auto repairs etc. If it was broken, he fixed it. After his Dad's passing, he was adamant his mom never had to pay for anything he could fix himself.

While we mourn the loss of our beloved Jay, we will forever cherish the countless stories he left behind. Jay could find the story in any situation, no matter how ordinary, and make it extraordinary.

Jay is survived by his children: James, Skyler and Tabitha; mother, Connie; sister Anjy (Avis); half brother, Brad (Stephanie); and Long-time companion, Kimmie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, John; brother, Greg; and sister-in-law, Brandi.

May he now rest in eternal peace knowing he was always loved unconditionally.
