Jack Cherry

Jack A. Cherry, 74 of Adel, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Des Moines, IA. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Caldwell Parrish McCalley Chapel in Adel. Burial will follow the service at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Jack Albert Cherry was born May 12, 1946 to Thomas and Mildred (Misner) Cherry in Des Moines, IA. Jack was a graduate of St. Mary’s High school in Martensdale. Following high school, he proudly served his country with the United States Army in the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he came back to Iowa where he worked for 3E as a Generator Technician, where he became a supervisor. When he retired, he spent that time in Adel enjoying his garden and doing handyman work around the house. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Lilly) Cherry; grandchild, Sladen; and sisters, Nelda Morton, Judy Pettinger, and Patrica Reeves. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kirk; brother, Keith; and daughter-in-law, Danielle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
