Halema Koko Kody

Halema was born and raised in the Nuba Mountains, in the village of Heiban. Halema married Kallo Angelo and she farmed on her local farm. She came to the United States on October 8, 2010. Halema received her U.S. citizenship on March 9, 2016. Halema is preceded in death by her two oldest daughters; Kaka and Kani, her son-in-law; the Rev. Goanar Chol Duol, and her siblings. She was estimated to be 82 when she peacefully took her last breath on the morning of October 17, 2018. She is survived by her daughter; Batul, grandchildren; Lam, Esther, and Lieb, her great grand daughter; Makya, and nieces and nephews in Sudan.
