Glenn William Thompson, son of William Arthur Thompson and Estella Miller Thompson, was born February 19, 1913 in Minburn, Iowa and died May 2, 2007 at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab Center in Mechanicsville, Iowa at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 14 days. Glenn grew up on the family farm east of Minburn and graduated from Minburn schools in 1930. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Mae Williams on June 10, 1939 and they made their home on the Thompson family farm. To this union, three sons were born; Richard, Leonard, and Dennis. Glenn farmed all of his life, and loved mechanics and fixing things. He was a patient, devoted, and loving husband and father. After retirement from farming, Glenn and Bonnie enjoyed traveling and camping. In later years, Glenn and Bonnie moved to Mechanicsville to be near their son, Leonard and his family. Glenn was a member of the Minburn United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; Bonnie of Mechanicsville; three sons; Richard (Lydia) Thompson of Ft. Collins, CO; Leonard (Diane) Thompson of Mechanicsville, IA; Dennis (Joanne Hughes) Thompson of Talent, OR; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law; Marjorie Skinner of Des Moines; other relatives and friends.
