Frank Phillip Williams III, born September 24th, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama to Frank Phillip Williams Jr. and Gloria Marie Miller. A native to Mobile, Alabama, Frank, commonly known as “Phillip,” graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. After high school, Phillip entered into the United States Army serving in South Korea and the Vietnam war. Phillip was a truck driver when he returned home and has traveled all over the United States. He had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, and fixing things up. Frank had been a resident of Des Moines, Iowa, since 2017, after reuniting with his first love, Mary Williams, and meeting his son, Thai Williams for the first time after 44 years (due to the Vietnam War). Phillip is survived by his wife Mary Williams, his daughters Maria Howell (David), Sherry Williams (Blair), Christy Smithweck (David), Thai Williams IV and his 12 grandchildren: Landon, Jake, Nicholas, Luna, Liam, Vivian, Ella, Evan, Kuulei, Kuuipo, Makanakai, and Lilah.
Frank was well loved and taken care of up to his last day. We appreciate Methodist Hospital team for an outstanding job and care.
