Evelyn Coffman

Evelyn Coffman, 87, of Winterset, Iowa, died Monday, June 19, 2017, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset. Private Memorial Graveside services will be held at a later date with interment in the Winterset Cemetery. Evelyn was born on October 11, 1929, at Madison County, Iowa to Paul and Irma (Rehard) Kile. She was a Winterset High School graduate and a Drake University graduate with a degree in Education. On March 3, 1950 she married Glen Coffman at Winterset. She had been a lifetime resident of Madison County and was a retired schoolteacher for the Winterset School District, having taught for 45 years and retiring in 1994. She was a life member of the National Education Association and the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #8142. Evelyn is survived by her son, Jeff (Alison) Coffman of Winterset; brothers, Rich Kile of Des Moines and Tom Kile of Winterset; sister, Norma Shaw of Winterset; and grandson, Drue Coffman of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Irma (Rehard) Kile; husband, Glen Coffman; brother, Wayne Kile; and sister, Joan Mealey. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
