Esther Ramirez De Castro

Our beloved Esther Ramirez De Castro, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2025. She passed peacefully at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family.

Esther was born on January 6, 1943, in Cañada de Ramirez, Michoacan, Mexico, to Isaias Ramirez Ramirez and Josefina Barboza Solis. In 1965 she married the love of her life, Conrado Castro Berber. Together they built a life filled with love and celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Esther was happiest when caring for her family and home. Every morning she would rise early to clean and tend to her flower garden. She was a fabulous cook who enjoyed raising chickens, selling items from her grocery store at home, and talking with neighbors. In 1995, she moved to Iowa to be with her children and family. She was a woman of strong faith, devoted to God, and dearly loved by all who knew her.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Conrado Castro Berber; children Jesus (Maria Guadalupe) Castro, Martha (Juvencio) Ramirez, Conrado (Ernestina) Castro, Pedro (Tina) Castro, Isaias (Lucila) Castro, as well as 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home (8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50322) with a service following at 7:00 p.m.
