Eric William Jeffrey

Eric William Jeffrey was born to Glen and Barbara (Radtke) Jeffrey on June 20, 1986 in Palos Heights, Illinois. He spent his childhood in Geneva, Illinois. He graduated high school in 2004, and went on to study at Northern Illinois University. He transferred to Iowa State University where he finished his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with high honors. He liked to travel, especially to France, and lived in Colorado and Kansas City for several years before settling in downtown Des Moines.

Eric enjoyed gaming, hiking and biking, and playing with his niece and nephew. He was a loyal friend and loving son, brother and uncle. He was fiercely independent, but had a generous spirit and a big heart. He volunteered his time at a homeless shelter, and animal rescue organizations. He lived the last several years as a vegetarian out of respect for animal rights.

Eric is survived by his parents, his brother Brandon Jeffrey, sister-in-law Colleen Jeffrey, nephew Garrett and niece Adalind, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He will be sorely missed, but will live on in our hearts.
