Eric Bruce Slycord

Eric Slycord, 52 of Adel, died suddenly Thursday, June 8,, 2017. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 12 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after Noon, Sunday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. He was born September 24, 1964 to Roger and Jean (Orton) Slycord. He graduated in 1984 from Pella High School. Eric was a volunteer fireman for the Adel Fire Department and employee of Adel Casey’s store, both for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Vikings. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Lori Stevens, four nieces and nephews, and a grateful community.
