Elizabeth Ione (Miller) Coffman, 85, passed away May20, 2026 after a years-long journey with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a resident of the Urbandale StoryPoint Senior Living Center for her end-of-life care.
Liz was born May 27, 1940. Liz was a member of Walnut Hills United Methodist Church. She was a very accomplished seamstress and operated her own in-home arts and crafts business for more than 40 years.
She was active in many service organizations and bridge groups and was an inspiration to so many by living her faith.
She understood that Death was not the final word.
Liz is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert, and three children: Dr. Rebecca L. Cain of Houston, Texas, Robyn Jeanne (Steve) Haley of Carlisle, Iowa, and Scott Robert (Christy) of Perry, Iowa. She also leaves two granddaughters and two great granddaughters, also of Houston.
Others survivors are a brother Albert Miller III, Bushnell, Illinois, and sister Judy Rice, of Loveland, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helen Miller of Elvaston, Illinois, and a sister, Carole Jean Coffman. Private funeral arrangements and inurnment will be scheduled in her Illinois hometown at a later date.
