Funeral services for Eleanor Foddy, 87, of Woodward will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Woodward United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home Perry, IA on Friday, October 12, 2018. Eleanor passed away suddenly Monday, October 8, 2018 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA.

Eleanor Frances Doty was born November 12, 1930 the daughter of Frederick and Lillian Alice (Moles) Doty in Cheyenne, WY. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in Wheat Ridge, CO with the class of 1948. She attended the University of Colorado for three years and later in her life returned to college at Iowa State University and received her bachelor’s degree in Zoology. She worked at Mercy Hospital as a Medical Technologist.

Eleanor married Harold W. Foddy on May 20, 1951 in Wheat Ridge, CO. Early in their married life they lived in to San Antonio, TX and Bartlesville, OK while Harold served in the USAF. Then they went on to Wichita, KS before moving to Dearborn, MI in 1953. In 1958 they moved to Woodward IA where they have lived for the past 60 years on their family farm.

With her husband, Eleanor was an integral part of the family farm. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also an active member and organist of the Woodward United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing bridge in her JFA ( Just For Amusement ) Bridge Club.
