E. Jo Randolph

E. Jo Randolph, 95, of Des Moines, IA died January 16, 2024, at Fleur Heights Care Center,

where she had been a resident for a few months.

She was born April 28, 1928, in Oak Park, Illinois and grew up in Elmhurst, Illinois. She

attended Webster University for 1 year before attending The Chicago Academy of Fine Art. After

art school, she moved to Houston, Texas. She was a gallery artist, showing her work in The

Canary Hill Gallery in Houston. She was a member of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston.

She moved to Des Moines in 1980 with her family. She became a member of the Iowa

Watercolor Society and painted with the same group of artists every Saturday for years.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Leslie Hancock (Warren), Mary Sullivan (Tim), Margaret Ricke

(Gordon) and Barbara Simpson; 4 granddaughters: Erin Zier, Amanada Fiser, Claire Ricke and

Katie Ricke; and 2 great granddaughters: Elle Zier and Zoe Zier.

In lieu of a funeral service, she donated her body to Des Moines University. A memorial service

will be held at a later date.
