Donald Allen Kinnison

Donald Allen Kinnison was born October 9, 1936 in David City, Nebraska. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Don retired after working 33 years at Armstrong Tire, he was an auctioneer. He was a retired Air National Guard serviceman. Don raised his family in DeSoto, Iowa. Don passed peacefully at home May 16, 2017 in Ames, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 22 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Burial with honors will be at Oakland Cemetery in DeSoto. Friends may call after Noon Sunday at McCalley Funeral Home , where family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Don is survived by his wife Bonnie; children Steve (Dixie), Scott (Hope), Leslie (Larry Mullenax), Shawn (Joan), Dan (Shawna), Melissa (Ron Mongan); step-son, Brad Lanxon(Korene); 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorna; parents Perry and Nellie Kinnison; and sister Belva Kinnison. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa.
