Diane Tiernan, 78, of Grimes, passed away on June 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 2, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Americo and Delores (Motts) Argenta.

Diane is survived by her husband, Fred; daughters, Jodi (Brian) Ness and Nicole (Doug) Fuqua; and her grandchildren: Sara Smith, Lindsey Palmer, Brandon Ness, Dylan Fuqua, Gabe Fuqua, and Drew Fuqua. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Mark Argenta and David Argenta.

A lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Diane especially enjoyed teasing her grandsons for being St. Louis Cardinals fans. She was also a proud supporter of the Iowa State Cyclones.

Her hobbies included cross stitching, reading, and attending her grandchildren’s athletic events. She loved spending time with her “furry grandson,” Keyser.

Diane worked for the Iowa National Guard before becoming the school secretary at Assumption Catholic School, where she found great joy in helping children grow into young adults.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Inurnment will take place at Beaver Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Assumption Foundation or InnerVisions Healthcare.
