Diane Langan Collet passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026 after having been visited, wished goodbye and see you later by family and friends either in person or in spirit.
She is survived by her son, Mike; grandson, Montgomery; and many family and friends, whom she loved dearly and was always grateful for. She was preceded in death by her mom, Mary Louise Langan and dad, Vincent Charles Langan. She was born in Nebraska and lived in many states as well as Japan, but spent most of her adult life in Iowa.
Diane attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and then attended the University of Missouri St. Louis where she received her B.A. in Psychology. The vibrant and always social and fashionable excelled in each of her jobs during her professional career including being part of Youth Runaway Services, working for ServiceMaster for many years, where she did bookkeeping and handled many day to day things for the business. She also enjoyed working for Rick Hogan Construction, and finished her career at Central Iowa Pool and Spa until she retired in 2023.
She loved spending time with her family, friends, neighbors and cats She enjoyed gardening, many kinds of music, baking, cooking and providing for her family. Diane was an avid decorator and local fashion icon, and she always put the needs of others ahead of her own with her generosity and love. Her humor and smile will be cherished as well as how welcoming and gracious she was.
A visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home on Friday, April 24 from 5-7 pm. A celebration of life will take place at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home. All are welcome to come visit if you are able. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Diane's honor to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Amnesty International, Suncrest Hospice, Calvin Community or any other local charities or philanthropies as Diane always believed in making a difference. She is now at peace and we will be lucky to celebrate her life with many others. Onine condolences may be left to the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.
