Debra Tresten

Debra Lea (Newby) Tresten passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 1, 2025, at 8:56 PM.

Deb was a devoted mother to Amber (Peterson) Meador and her husband, Mark, and to Tyler Newby and his wife, Melliny. She was a proud, loving grandmother to Noah, Roger, Ava, Amanda, Harper, and Willow.

Deb had a heart that overflowed with love and kindness. She found true joy in caring for others and was happiest when serving in ways that touched lives. She was in her element working with Imagine the Possibilities, where she adored her “special ladies,” and with Middle River Hospice, offering comfort and compassion to families in need. Her greatest treasures, though, were her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy.

Deb was preceded in death by her father, Willis Newby; her mother, Lois Newby; her sister, “Sassy” Sandy Clark; and her brother, Kenny Newby. She is survived by her daughter Amber (Peterson) Meador and husband, Mark; her son Tyler Newby and wife, Melliny; her sister Diana Arends and husband, Shannon; her sister Patty and daughter, Stacy; and her sister Sue Jehle and husband, Kent; along with many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her loving and giving heart.

Deb’s legacy of love, care, and selfless service will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the Redeemer Church in Winterset. A visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at the Bedford City Cemetery, Bedford, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.
