David "Dave" John Miller, 47, of Bouton, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Saturday, June 27, 2026, while in Nashville, Tennessee. A Sharing of Memories will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Life until 7:00 p.m. at Three Sisters Barn in Dallas Center, Iowa. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.caldwellparrish.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to establish a college fund for Dave's two beloved sons, Bridger and Colter.
Dave was born on September 15, 1978, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Mike Weiser and Jaye DeGooyer. He graduated from Eldora High School and went on to build a life centered around faithfulness to his family, hard work, and making those around him smile.
On May 21, 2011, Dave married the love of his life, Charlie Wisgerhof. Together they shared 15 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with two sons, who were the pride and joy of his life. Dave cherished every moment spent with his family, and being a husband and father was his greatest accomplishment. His happiest moments were simply being together with the people he loved most.
Even in his passing, Dave's generous spirit continued to make a difference. As an organ and tissue donor, he gave the gift of life and healing to others, ultimately helping an estimated 75 individuals through his selfless donation. His final act of kindness reflects the compassionate and giving person he was, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to impact countless lives.
Dave worked as a Service Manager for Hy-Line International in Dallas Center. While that was his official title, he proudly referred to himself as a "chicken farmer," a description that always brought a smile to those who knew him.
Outside of work, Dave had a passion for music, fishing, cooking barbecue, and cowboying. He fell in love with fishing at an early age and later taught himself to play the guitar, spending countless hours enjoying music. Whether he was tending the grill, casting a line, strumming his guitar, or spending time outdoors, Dave embraced life with enthusiasm and a contagious spirit.
Known for his quick wit, larger-than-life personality, and ability to make friends wherever he went, Dave was often the center of attention. He loved making people laugh, telling stories, and ensuring there was never a dull moment. His family and friends will forever remember his humor, his generous heart, and the joy he brought into every room. As many have said this week, "We will all miss Dave Miller."
Dave's memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Charlie Miller; his beloved sons, Bridger Miller and Colter Miller; his parents, Mike and Jaye Weiser; his brothers, Chris (Ashley) Weiser and Matt (Desi) Weiser; his nieces and nephews, Nolan, Connor, Arlo, and Riley; his parents-in-law, Jeff and Robin Wisgerhof; his brother-in-law, Jake (Ashley) Wisgerhof, and their daughters, Josie and Millie; his aunt and uncles, Jane DeGooyer, Jack DeGooyer, Mark Weiser, and Lisa (Avitt) Weiser; as well as many extended family members and countless friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Josephus and Francis Miller, John "Jack" and Bonnie DeGooyer, and William "Bud" Weiser; and by his beloved niece, Jaquelyn Weiser.
