Darshelle Catrice Moore was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She transitioned peacefully at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, leaving this world to be with the Lord on August 23, 2025.

Prior to her final hospital stay, Darshelle resided at On With Life in Polk City, Iowa. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ronald Gene Newton and Bobby Joe Rogers, and lived a life filled with love, determination, and an unwavering zest for life.

Darshelle attended Callanan Middle School and later continued her education at DMACC Community College, always believing in the power of learning and personal growth. She was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Christ Apostolic Temple, grounding her life in faith.

A woman of many passions, Darshelle proudly described herself as a “top-notch self-care diva.” She loved shopping, caring for herself, and celebrating beauty in all its forms. She inherited her father’s love for music and often enjoyed long car rides with the music turned up loud, filling the air with rhythm and joy. Her eye for fashion and décor was unmatched—pink was her signature color, and in her world, there was no such thing as “too much” when it came to creating beauty.

Darshelle was the spark of every gathering, bringing life and energy into every room she entered. She had a special talent for making s’mores with children and creating cherished memories with those around her. Her spirit was defined by ambition and resilience—if there was no wood to start a fire, she would find a way to make a flame. She was confident, driven, determined, and truly unconquerable. She also had a special love for butterflies and the Eiffel Tower.

Her nurturing nature extended far beyond her family, touching the lives of friends and community members alike. She was community-oriented and genuinely one of a kind. In her final act of selflessness, Darshelle chose to be an organ donor—saving three lives and forever cementing her legacy as a hero.

Darshelle was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Gene Newton and Bobby Joe Rogers; her son, DeAndre Richardson; and her nephew, Karlos Goldman Jr.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Anthony Richardson and Monet Moore; her cherished grandchildren, Little Anthony, London, and Iyland; and her siblings: Lebrija, Tracy Goldman, Edward Newton, Tyrone Newton, Myron Newton, Ronnetta McCaughey, and Indica McCaughey. She also leaves behind a host of other family members and dear friends who will continue to celebrate her life and honor her memory.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Apostolic Temple (1230 East 17th Street, Des Moines, IA) on September 27, 2025, at 3:30 p.m.

Family is asking all that will to wear some pink in honor of her and her favorite color.
