Darci Boothe-Kitchen, a cherished soul known for her unwavering kindness and nurturing spirit, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Winterset, Iowa. She was born on December 22, 1965, in Kirksville, Missouri, and raised in the Des Moines area where she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1984. In 1996, Darci moved to Winterset, Iowa, where she spent many devoted years working for "Imagine the Possibilities" Group Home, making a significant difference in the lives of those she served.
Throughout her life, Darci possessed an extraordinary ability to be a shoulder for anyone in need. She was always ready with a listening ear and an open heart, providing comfort to those around her as they navigated life's challenges. Friends and family often found solace in her presence; her deep empathy and genuine concern for others illuminated her path and created ripples of joy in the lives she touched.
Darci's vibrant personality set her apart. She was known for her infectious smile and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Whether advocating for her beloved movies, especially her favorite film, Titanic, or finding delight in the laughter shared among friends, she brought a sense of enthusiasm and warmth to every gathering. An animal lover at heart, she shared a special bond with all animals, especially her dog Toby. She was passionate about connecting with people across the globe through social media. Her friendships formed during these online interactions were precious to her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
Darci is survived by her devoted husband, Robert M. Kitchen, and her loving parents, George and Shirley Boothe. She leaves behind her cherished siblings, Mark (Crystal) Boothe, Wes (Gail) Boothe, and Amy (Jon) McQuoid, as well as countless nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives she enriched through her kindness and love.
Darci was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roland and Carole Kitchen, as well as her brother, Andrew Boothe, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
Her memory will forever shine brightly in our hearts, reminding us of the love and light she shared with everyone she encountered. A visitation in honor of Darci will be held on June 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home - Winterset Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life on June 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
