Charles “Chuck” Schwab, 76, passed away on February 2, 2026, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Chuck was born on August 14, 1949, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Wallace and Audrey Schwab. He enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he served as a medic. After his military service, Chuck would later enroll at Upper Iowa University. Later in life, he became a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
On October 21, 1972, Chuck married Jean Vanni. Family was the center of his life, and he especially loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, visual arts, dance recitals, and music performances—always present and always proud.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Schwab; his children, Jessica (Chris) Brase, Erika Schwab (Michael Nicholsen), and Andrew (Hacel) Schwab; and his grandchildren, Drew and Reese Brase. He is also survived by his siblings, Timothy Schwab, Pam Ringleb and Annette (David) Cook, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Audrey Schwab; his in-laws, John and Anna Vanni; and his siblings, Curtis Schwab, Karen Millang, Terry Schwab, and William Schwab.
The family extends special thanks to the medical staff at the Iowa Veterans Home for their constant support and compassionate care over the past five years.
