Charleen Emily Greenwood

Charleen Emily Greenwood, 71, of rural Dexter, Iowa died August 1, 2016 at home. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, August 6, at the North McDonald Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Charleen was born January 6, 1945 at Iowa City, Iowa and she graduated from Winterset High School in 1963. Her marriage to Kerry Greenwood took place in September of 2005. During her working years, Charleen worked with the Greyhound Accounting Center in Des Moines as well as McDonald’s on 22nd Street in West Des Moines, where she was employed for 18 years. She also worked several years with Auto Owners Insurance in West Des Moines. She was not one to join organizations but rather enjoyed time spent with her husband and the solitude of her home in the country where she could enjoy animals, especially her cats. She is survived by her husband, Kerry Greenwood of rural Dexter; a son, Ronald Helm; siblings, Gail Helm, Richard Helm and Mary Helm; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale Helm.
