Brian Lee Lomax

Brian Lee Lomax, 37, of Woodward, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Ames, Iowa.

Born on August 9, 1988, in Iowa City, Iowa, Brian graduated from Algona High School in 2006. He enjoyed 80’s and 90’s country music, playing video games and cards, and taking car rides. He loved traveling to Georgia to visit family and had a special fondness for ramen noodles, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, and making homemade “bread-pizza,” a favorite from his childhood. Brian never knew a stranger—he truly enjoyed meeting new people—and above all, he cherished his Grandma Vicky, his mother, and his sister.

Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Victoria Lomax; his maternal great-grandparents, Ray and Ramona Harrison; and his great-aunt, Mary Sheffield.

He is survived by his mother, Christy Lomax of Emmetsburg, IA; his sister, Kayla Lomax of Windsor Heights, IA; and his niece, Sophia Lomax of Douglas, GA. He is also survived by his uncles: Stacey (Lisa) Lomax of Curlew, IA; Steven (Yolanda) Harrison of Brunswick, GA; Jonathan (Melissa) Lomax of Douglas, GA; and Ricky (Tracey) Lomax of Douglas, GA; as well as his cousins: Tasha, Nycole, Shanda, Drake, Brady, Makenna, Austin, Dylan, Blake, and Hunter; and many great cousins, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Christy requests cards containing a memory and/or a photo you may have of Brian. Cards may be sent to 2907 4th St., Emmetsburg, IA 50536.

The family will honor Brian’s life with a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
