Bradley James Richman, age 62, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on December 7, 2025, at UnityPoint–Marshalltown Hospital. He was born on February 2, 1963, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Francis Duane and Mary Sandra (Hollingsworth) Richman.
Bradley grew up in the Des Moines metro area and graduated from Urbandale High School in 1981. He went on to attend Des Moines Area Community College before beginning a long and dedicated career with the State of Iowa, where he served as a Senior Server Administrator. His work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to his team were well known and deeply appreciated.
A man of many passions, Bradley was widely known for his love of playing the drums, especially with his favorite Muppet character “Animal” proudly portrayed on his drum set. Music—particularly Led Zeppelin—soundtracked his daily life, being a devoted member of multiple bands throughout his lifetime. The Drummer for Led Zeppelin, John Bonham, served as his lifelong inspiration to continue drumming. He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a pastime he shared wholeheartedly with his significant other, Connie Major, his son, Cody Lasker, and many friends. Bradley was a devoted enthusiast of sports and never missed a game when it came to cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He spent many weekends in the theatre watching his daughter Chayse and her boyfriend Benjamin performing. He adored the many trips and vacations to the mountains, especially The Rockies in Colorado.
Bradley had a tender heart for animals, none more so than his beloved dog, Freckles. Above all, he fiercely loved his children and grandchildren. He also believed strongly in supporting veterans which included his son (US Army), and was a proud member of American Legion Riders, as well as the Sons of the American Legion of Post 232 in Polk City, Iowa.
Left to honor his memory are his life partner, Connie Major; his children, Cody (Rebekah) Lasker and Chayse MacLennan (Benjamin Green); his grandchildren, Steven and Elizabeth Lasker; his sisters, Laura (Perry) DePhillips and Joan (Michael) Schoborg; his brother, Brent Richman; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, at Lutheran Church of Hope – Waukee. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope – Waukee.
Bradley will be remembered for his big heart, his adventurous spirit, and his deep devotion to the people he loved. There was no joke untold, no game unwatched, and no hair untamed. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
