Bonnie was born on May 30, 1943, to Russell and Susie (Boney) Weir in Eldon, Iowa. She grew up in the Eldon area and graduated from Cardinal High School. Also, later in life, volunteered on the Ladies Prayer shawl team at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, Iowa.

Bonnie was incredibly talented when it came to arts and crafts and enjoyed creating special pieces throughout the years. Just as meaningful were the lifelong friendships Bonnie formed and maintained throughout her life. She deeply valued the people around her and leaves behind many wonderful memories for those who knew and loved her.
