Arlene White, 91, of Winterset died May 13, 2019 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with a Rosary service immediately following, beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday in the Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Arlene Jeanette Clark was born in Chillicothe, Iowa on October 24, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Adeline (Espeland) Clark. She graduated from Ottumwa High School and later married Glen White. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Winterset. She was active in many of her children’s activities, especially Boy Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, including flowers and vegetables. Arlene also enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, crocheting, and sewing doll clothes. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. Arlene is survived by her children, Glen (Bobi) White Jr. of Newfields, NH and Sharon (Jeff) Dunkerson of Winterset; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; children, Gayle White and Randy White; brothers, Richard, Gene and Harold; and sisters, Twila and Maxine.
