Ann Marie Button

Ann Marie Button, 73, of Adel, IA, passed away, Monday, January 26, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Adel, IA. Following the service the family welcomes friends for a time of fellowship in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the family for future designations. Ann was born on January 4, 1953 to Morey and Mary (Gagan) Proctor in Des Moines, IA. Ann graduated from Urbandale High School and later attended Des Moines Areas Community College where she obtained her practical nursing degree in August of 1973 and then her CPN certificate in November of 1973. She married the love of her life James Button on January 5, 1974 and to this marriage had four children. Ann dedicated most of her career to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mercy Hospital. She will be truly missed by all.

She is survived by her four children: James “Jay” Button, Kerry Button, Timothy Button, Cierra Button, six grandchildren: Cody Weier, Tanner (Hailey) Weier, Trey Weier, Lexi (Alex) Ehler, Kaylee Button, Carley Button, two great-grandchildren, River Weier, Ryder Weier, two sisters, Meg (Jeff) Tyler, Mary Pat (Roger) McMahon, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Button, parents, Morey and Mary Proctor, and two brothers, Joe Proctor and Mike Proctor.
