Amber Wise

Amber Michelle Wise, 41, of Winterset passed away on June 30, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer.

Amber was born August 15, 1984, to Tom and Trena Walker. She was raised in Winterset with her siblings, Leah and Craig. She graduated from Winterset High School in 2003. Prior to graduation she started working for Mahle Filter System. She worked in the quality department and later advanced to managing customer service. She stayed with Mahle for 23 years until the company's relocation this March.

Amber began dating Michael Wise in 2007, and they married June 7, 2014. Together they grew a family. Their daughter Madalynn was born in 2010, and Melody was born in 2016. Amber loved her family above all else. She loved planning and going on family vacations. You could always count on her to be there enjoying time with her friends and family. She really loved caring for babies and her cats. She was the ultimate Mom, Wife, Daughter, Big Sister, and Aunt.

Amber is survived by her devoted husband Michael Wise; her two daughters, Madalynn Wise and Melody Wise; her parents Tom and Trena Walker of Prole; her brother Craig (Samantha) Walker of Indianola; her brother-in-law Tom (Sarah) Shelley; nephews, Logan, Clay, and Miles Walker, Nolyn (Karissa Day) Shelley; nieces, Allie (Mason Vonk) Shelley, Gracelynn (Damien) Lawson, Elizabeth (C.J.) Steinbach, Alyson (Blake) Allsup, and Emily (Tage) Kaldenberg; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister Leah Shelley; her grandparents Daryl and Norma Walker; her Aunt Sharon; her Granny Carolyn Swadley; her in-laws Richard and Linda Wise; and her Granny Betty Lemons.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Jackson Building in Winterset.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.
