**Amber Lynn Gloshen**
Born May 27, 1970 – Passed Away May 30, 2025
Age 55 – Des Moines, Iowa.
Amber Lynn Gloshen passed away unexpectedly in Des Moines, Iowa, shortly after her 55th birthday. She was a mother, a daughter, and a woman whose life reflected both love and hardship.
Amber was born in Dallas, Texas and eventually made Des Moines her home. She faced many battles, some of which she could not overcome, and her path was not an easy one. She endured long periods of instability and pain. She is now at peace and reunited with her parents Don and Faith, and her nephew Andrew.
Amber is survived by those who loved her deeply, even when it was hard— her children, Zachary, Amanda, and Katie; her sisters, Crystal and Sonya; her nieces, Dawn and Melanie; her eight cherished grandchildren; a very special Aunt Yvonne, and many cousins who held a dear place in her heart. She leaves behind memories—some painful, some tender, all real.
Amber is remembered for her cooking. Sunday breakfast was scrambled eggs, homemade hashbrowns (grated by hand), sausage links, and rich country gravy. If her children didn’t like their eggs, she’d simply cover them with gravy—and that’s still how they eat them today. Her tacos, steak and rice, goulash, and green bean casserole were also family favorites, always made with love.
Her Grandson remembered when it was just the two of them at home—him and “Grammy”—watching late-night cartoons and FaceTiming the people they loved.
She loved fiercely in her own way, even when life got in the way of showing it. Her story is not one of perfection, but of complexity. Amber’s life serves as a reminder of how trauma can shape a person, and how even amidst brokenness, love can still exist. She was not always able to accept help, but her family never stopped hoping she would find peace.
Rest in peace, momma. Your love surrounds us always. We miss you more than words can ever express. We love you.
