Adam Charles Hay, 51, of Adel, formerly of Perry, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
In accordance with Adam’s wishes, he has been cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.
Adam was born on April 22, 1974, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Raymond Charles Hay and Connie Kay (Wright) Metzler. He graduated from Perry High School.
He was most recently employed at Patrick’s Restaurant in Adel, where he had worked for several years. Adam had a deep love for music, he enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and was always creating. A true artist at heart, he found joy in drawing, crafting, and expressing himself through various forms of art. Known for his old soul, he also enjoyed collecting unique knick-knacks, playing darts, and shooting pool. His creativity, warmth, and unique spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
Adam is survived by his wife, Amanda (Nicolaisen) Hay of Perry; daughter, Kaylee Hay of Perry; three sons: Austin Hay of Michigan, Justin Hay of Ogden, and Cayden Hay of Perry; two grandchildren, Oliver and Oaklyn; his mother, Connie Metzler of Ogden; and two brothers: Darrell Shield of Perry and Jeff (Maggie) Hay of Maxwell. He is also remembered by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hay, and his brother, Michael Hay.
