James F. Reihsen

James Fox Reihsen, 87, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8, from 4pm to 7pm at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Urbandale, with a Rosary at 7pm. Mass to celebrate his life will be Thursday, November 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, WDM, at 11am, with interment at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, at 2pm. Jim was a graduate of Dowling High School class of '48. He served in the US Army and US Air Force. After retiring from the armed services, he served as a police officer, an EMT, and a US Postal worker. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus at St. John's Basilica, then a parishioner at Sacred Heart. The people that hold him dear include his wife, Annie; daughters, Janet Crowe, Katherine Reihsen, Mary (Lynn) Schroeder, Lisa (Dave) Blauw, Linda Reihsen, Tric White and Lori (Bob) Hickok; 26 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son-in-law Wayne Crowe, and 2 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
